Mr. Patrick Lo, a member of our research team at the IFT Tourism Research Centre appeared as one of the panelists discussing the effects of the new multiple-entry visa policy for Zhuhai residents and the sufficiency of Macao’s tourism carrying capacity in the Macau Forum programmed by TDM - Teledifusão de Macau, S.A. on Sunday, 16 September 2012.

Together, the panelists discussed how the multiple-entry visa policy would no doubt increase the number of tourists visiting Macao and the key questions that need to be addressed. These include: What economic effects will the new policy bring in the long-run? At the same time, as Macao aims to establish as a world centre of tourism and leisure, should Macao be more concerned for quantity or quality in terms of tourism?
